Mt. Everest in Tibet side straddles the east section of the Nepal/Tibet border with its northern side lying in the Tingri. With its opened border in 1980, it is possible for expedition and other trips in Tibet organizing from Nepal . The North Ridge has represented staggering achievement which side was that the pioneering British Expeditions of the early 1900 had come. However the route is difficult and of course the summit day will be a long and tiring but the allure of climbing the Mt. Everest from Tibet side has always been a magical. The base camp is established at Rombuk glacier at 5200m. From where the real climb starts at camp 1 at an elevation of 7000m.
Preparation way
After few days' preparation in Kathmandu, we drive to Nepal-Tibet border. We complete the customs and immigration formalities and meet the Chinese liaison officer then drive to Zhangmu. The second day we drive to Nylam (3750m) and spend one extra day for acclimatization. On further day we drive to Tingri (4350m) where we spend one more nights for better acclimatize. From Tingri we drive to Mt. Everest Base Camp 5200m, which is also called Chinese Base Camp along the rough and grassy plain way.
We set up our camp at Chinese Base Camp and stay at least two nights depending on the members feeling and preparation of the yaks to carry the loads. Now we fixed the Base camp and advance base camp at the different places, which are kept there permanently until the expedition is finished. After walking 2 days, we reach to ABC 6400m along with the Yaks. From ABC, the route goes to the east Rongbuk (Everest Base) glacier and after that there is an easy snow slopes to the North Col at 7000m. Where camp 1 is situated on snow.
About Camps
Camp two at 7400m. on snow and angled snow slopes climb Camp three at 7900m. on rocks and first through series of the rocks and then an easy terrain and windy
Camp four at 8400m. on rocks through rocks and snow steps requiring very considerable care for yourself, specially clothing and oxygen equipments.
