Shera/Hilsa border had been a route for Nepalese pilgrims and trading for people in the border for many years and it has been opened for foreign trekkers from 1993 AD. The journey starts with flight to Simikot and goes through Humla / Karnali area, Nepal's highest, northernmost and most remote district but culturally and scenically rewarding. We have combined such a nice adventure and pilgrim tour with 5 days trek through the wonderful remote area crossing the Shera border. The trekking from the beautiful region of Simikot (3900 M) following the Humla Karnali route through rice and wheat fields, meet well-educated friendly monks who speak excellent English and yes, see some of the finest views nature has to offer of the west Nepal. Mt. Kailash 6714m situated in the south- western part of Tibet, and lapping at its foothills are the turquoise blue, calm waters of Lake Manasarovar. Kailaskhand, as the region is known, is also the source of four great rivers flowing into the subcontinent - Indus, Brahmaputra, Karnali and Sutlej.
Hindus belief that Kailas is the throne of Lord Shiva where he sits in perpetual meditation with his consort Parvati, daughter of Himalaya and it is the ultimate pilgrimage destinations beleving that a ritual bath in the sacred Manasarovar will relinquish the sins of a hundred lifetimes.
