After breakfast; drive to Patan city situated southeast of Kathmandu on the southern bank of the holy river Bagamti The city is famed for its wealth of Buddhist and Hindu temples with an abundance of fine bronze gateways and wonderful carvings, vist Bungamati a Newar village on a spur of land overlooking the Bagmati River and a hometown of the deity Machhindranath regarded as the patron of the valley and his large shikhara-style temple in the center of the village, Kathmandu Durbar Square is crowded with ancient temples and palaces reflecting the religious and cultural life of the people and witness of living goddess Kumari and finally visit Swyambhunath Stupa one of the world’s most famous Buddhist Chaityas. The 2000 year old Chaityas is commonly known as the ‘monkey temple’ because of its resident population of apes. This spectacular Buddhist Stupa, from which the Buddha’s eyes gaze serenely down, lies on a hilltop. The views of Kathmandu and the surrounding valley are superb from here.
While walking you will enjoy the villages and mountain view as well including Mt. Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. Experience culture of the Gurungs at their homestays and enjoy the live cultural program.
After tea/Coffee go for village tour including view tower, Gorkha park and historical Uttar Kannya temple, Tea Garden, Gurung Museum. Enjoy cultural program (optional) performed by mother group which extra cost about Rs. 3500. Over night at community homestay.
