Naya Kanga peak climbing in Nepal

Naya Kanga peak and climbing information: Naya Kanga 5,844m altitude formerly known as Ganjala Chuli; mrises to the west of Ganja La, and is not much a popular but technical mountain to climb in Langtang area and just east to kyangjin Gompa. The normal route to this peak is via the snowy north-east ridge on the snow and rock trail. A day long walk from Kyangjin Gompa makes bring to the base camp of the peak. With full preparation the ascent start to the high camp at about 4900m. Then climb to summit of the peak which is rewarding of the spectacular view of mountains around and some Tibetan peaks.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01:Arrive in Kathmandu airport

You'll be met at the airport by our representative and transfer to hotel.

Day 02:Kathmandu

Half day guided sightseeing tour. Afternoon, meet the guide / trip briefing and final preparation of the trek.

Day 03:Kathmandu - Dhunche 1970m 8hr drive

An hour drive to Kakani with great views of the Himalayas then follow narrow road to Tirsuli and up hill drive to Kaliksthan and further Dhunche an attractive village with large stone houses providing excellent views of Gheng Langtang Lirung, and Ganesh Himal.

Day 03:Dhunche - Syabru 2150m 6hrs trek

Fist walking along the road until Thulo Bharkhu than steep up to ridge through the pinewoods entering the Langtang Valley. The trail then along the ridge descends a short steep slope into Syabru.

Day 04:Syabru - Lama Hotel 2400m 6hrs trek

The trail first descends through a dense forest to the bridge then climb up to the Lama Hotel in the tiny village of Chongong.

Day 05:Lama Hotel - Langtang Village 3400m 6hrs trek

The trail climbs steadily to Ghora Tabela with glimpses of Langtang Lirung (7246m) through the forest immediately a spectacular view of Langtang Lirung appears. Continue ascend steadily up to Langtang village an interesting Tibetan-style village.

Day 06:Langtang Village - Kyannjin Gompa 3800m 5hrs trek.

Trail ascends gradually to a chorten behind which is a very long mani wall and passes two small villages and the village widens then some streams and a moraine before arriving at Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 07:Kyanjin Gompa

A rewarding day hike further up the valley kyanjin-Ri or Cherkori for the spectacular views that include Langtang Lirung, Ganchenpo, Langshisa Ri, Dorje Lakpa, Lenpo Gang and Urkinmang.

Day 08:Kyanjin Gompa – Nayakanga peak Base Camp

Trek through rocky and dry section to get to the base Camp of the peak and set and camp.

Day 09:Base Camp - High Camp

Climb through snow trail and some hard section of the ascent and get o the high camp of the peak and set a camp.

Day 10:High Camp – Summit – Kyanjin Gompa

With full excitement and climbing preparation start the climbing through glacier and get to the top of the Nayakang peak. After enjoying the supper mountains view surrounding descent to the base camp and trek back to Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 11:Kyanjin Gompa – Ghodetabela 2970m 7hrs trek.

Since you'll be acclimatized and will be descending, we trek down all the way to Ghodetabal through the same trail in a day's walk from Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 12:Ghodetabela – Syabru 2225m 6hrs trek.

We continue keep retracing our steps back on the same trail and you should be able to reach Syabru in another day descending.

Day 13:Syabru - Sing Gompa 3440m 6hrs trek.

Climb up the steep hill above the village passing pleasant teashops in the settlement of Dursagang then through forests, old chorten to the top of the ridge further to the small Buddhist monastery of Sing Gompa is about 100m along the trail to the left.

Day 14:Sing Gompa – Dhunche

The trail goes along the ridge ascending a short steep slope into Syabru then descend through thulo Bharkhu village and further to Dhunche along the road way

Day 15:Dhunche – Kathmandu

Drive to Kaliksthan and further down to Tirsuli then to Kakani with views of Gheng, Langtang Lirung, and Ganesh Himal. From Kakani it is about 3 hrs drive to get to the Kathmandu.

Day 16:Kathmandu

A full day sightseeing tour in the Kathmandu Valley. Evening Join the farewell dinner with live Nepali ultural program hosted by the company.

Day 17:Departure

If you have time and are interested for other adventure like white water rating, wild life safari or any other activities can extend your holiday or transfer to airport and fly back to sweet home.

Trip Essential Information

Introduction and trip briefing:

On our all tours, trek, expeditions and other adventures, we give a short brief about the trip in Kathmandu on the same day of your arrival and introduce your trip leader and team members. At the mean time, we provide an opportunity for individuals to ask questions if any about the trip.

Meals during Tent peak climbing:

Hygienic and freshly cook meals on full board basis will be provided both on trekking and climbing sections. We provide high level of balance diet, hygiene and safety meals three times in a day. Dishes we prepare are normally Nepali, Tibetan/Sherpa, Indian, Continental and Italian.

Things to know: 

Our first concern is your safety while traveling with Holiday Mountain Treks. Please be informed that your trek leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Our every effort will be made for a safely completion of the planned itinerary, however as this is adventure travel into the remote mountain region, we cannot guarantee it! Other factor like weather conditions, the health of member can be the reason to changes the itinerary. In such a case, please be prepared to be flexible. Your trek guide will accompany you on all scheduled activities and you will have free time to pursue your own interests too. Your trek guide will assist you with information about your options but please be informed that any additional activities you undertake are not part of our itinerary.

Trekking/climbing staffs:

Believing that every successful trips have been possible because of the team work, Holiday Mountain Treks employs experienced and trained Nepalese trekking/climbing guide and other staffs. Our staffs are organized and professional. Trekking/climbing guide will be fully trained of the following course who will assist you in your summit attempt. Trekking guide training from Nepal government's ministry of tourism & civil aviation department of hotel management & tourism training centre of Nepal.

Eco trekking workshop & adventure meet from Trekking Agenci’s Association of Nepal.

Good care of porters: 

Believing that the porters are important and impossible to complete the trip. We do not allow porters to carry exceeding 20 kgs in tea-house and 30kgs weight in camping trek. It is because of human being respect, their rights and against any exploitation on it's operation. We provide good health insurance, good equipments, working training and of course good pay with lots of encouragements. We are working with porters progress of Nepal and other organizations concerning about the porters.

A successful trek/climb requirement:

As other adventure trip, Pisang peak trek/climb also requires previous experience of trekking and ice/rock climb, sound health & fitness, experience for using Ice axe and crampons, ascending/descending. Of course there will be some Ice climbing course at the base camp make you skillful of using ropes, ice pick, harness, crampons and other essential gears. Pisang peak climb usually require maximum 10hrs of walking and average 4-8 hrs in a day; You should be prepared 7-10 Km of walking or jugging exercise everyday at least 2 months before your trip starts. With lot of willpower, strong determination, reasonable fitness in health and hiking experience make surer of your successful trip. However medical and evacuation expenses are your responsibility so we suggest you to consult your doctor for medical requirements. To ensure for a safety and successful trek; we will provide one trek leader, one assistance leader on every group trek so that if in case one get sick, it would not be canceled the trek and run as plan as in itinerary.
