Manaslu trek in Nepal

Manaslu trek a perfect trekking trip to explore the village life and their culture. While trekking, the views are stunning; Annapurna, Manaslu, Himalchuli, peak 29 and Ganesh Himal dominate the skyline. The trail is winding and rice paddies of the Gurung and Magar villages along the Budhi Gandaki River valley soon give way to steep tracks cut into the cliffs of the river gorge. As you enter the rain shadow of Manaslu close to the Tibeaten border, the scenery changes dramatically. Sparse forests decorated with colorful prayer flags, and many shrines proclaim the region's Tibetan Buddhist heritage. While the approach to Larkya La is demanding, your reward is incomparable views of Manaslu and Himlung Himal from the pass. A steep descent into rhododendron forests will then bring you to the Marshyangdi River Valley and the more traveled Annapurna trails, which lead back to the road head or continue to another adventure of Thorong-la pass. The itinerary given here is heading down to Besisahar and drive to Kathmandu.

Trip Review

We traveled through Manaslu with a guide, cook and porters organized with Holiday Mountain Treks. Our interest was to trek in the non touristic area and choosedclimb two peaks in the Rolwaling but had some problems with the weather on one peak and acclimatization on the other. We were quite happy and could not expect more with Holiday Mountain Treks, they organized the trip well and their price was great. Our guide was energetic and good with the group. The food was great. The cook made the best food with different test everyday. As well our porters were extremely hardworking and always cheerful. We will come back to climb again some mountains in this beautiful country and will definitely use the Holiday Mountain Treks. We will also highly recommend this agency to all our friends in Europe.
