Shivapuri at an elevation 2732m. offers excellent views of the Himalayas off to the west from Jugal and Ganesh Himal out to Himalchuli and eastwards from Langtang to Dorje Lapka and of course intense rhododendron blossoms in spring.
It lies within the Shivapuri Watershed and wildlife reserve; a huge walled area set aside to protect the valley's water supply and critical forests. The trek starts from Budhanilkantha through the forest and the summit on the flat grassy appears on the second day of the trek. Then the trek goes through the forest and superb mountain views to the north and valley rim down.
Finally, the trek goes to Nagarkot where a night is a must to view the wonderful sunrise over the Himalaya in the next morning. After breakfast drive to Bhaktapur a Newari town and lunch here. After lunch drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu.
Arrive at Kathmandu airport. We will welcome you then transfer to the hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu city tour.
Visit Swoyambhunath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar square then get prepared for the trip and meet the trekking crew.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Shivapuri top.
Drive to Budhanilkhan.
Day 05: Shivapuri Top – Dhap.
Trek to Dhap with the great mountain to the north and valley view down.
Day 06: Dhap – Chaukibhanjyang.
Trek to Chaukibhanjyang through forest and villages.
Day 07: Chaukibhanjyang – Nagarkot.
Trek through the villages and climb easy uphill to Nagarkot.
Day 08: Nagarkot - Bhaktapur – Kathmandu.
Drive to Telkot and trek to Changunarayn then Bhaktapur. After lunch and sightseeing of the city, drive to Kathmandu.
Day 09: Kathmandu.
A free day for your own activities. Evening, enjoy a fare dinner with a lively cultural program hosted by the company.
Day 10: Departure.
If you have time and are interested in other adventures like white water rating, wildlife safari or any other activities can extend your holiday or transfer to the airport and fly back to sweet home.
