Annapurna Mardi Himal Base Camp trekking in Nepal

Trek to Mardi Himal a long rising ridge that forms the south westerly slope of Mt. Machhapuchhre, just below its sheer south face. This combines the Annapurna Base Camp trail and Mardi Himal a wilderness and off the beaten track giving trekkers an opportunity to explore beautiful scenery of south face of Mardi Himal and Mt. Machhapuchhre Himalayas, people and life style of the local people here. This trek starts from Birethanti to Ghorepani and Chhomrong then climbs through forests and above the tree lines to follow the ridge that goes up to trekking high camp 3,620m where time is spent acclimatizing while being awestruck by the views. Finally the trail enters the wilderness territory as we go beyond 4,500 meters, where the great ice fields and be glaciers of Annapurna Base Camp lie below. From here the trail goes down all the way to Mardi Pool giving the feeling that they have explored.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Kathmandu - Pokhara

Transfer by tourist bus for about 6 -hour to Pokhara, a beautiful town set on the banks of the Phewa Lake. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy either doing last minute shopping for the trek or packing your  things.

Day 2 : Pokhara - Birethanti – Ulleri 2070m

Drive an hour to Birethanti and stat trekking through the lush, green Modi river valley, past waterfalls with plunge pools. After crossing the bridge ascend steep staircase to Magar village of Ulleri where you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.

Day 3 : Ulleri – Ghorepani 2840m

A gentle climb through pasture and cultivated fields. As the trail climbs higher, you walk up beside the cascading river through refreshingly cool oak and rhododendron forest to Ghorepani.

Day 4 : Ghorepani – Tadapani 2540m.

Early-morning climb to the Poonhill and enjoy sunrise over the peaks and magnificent mountain panoramic view. A short ascend to Deurali pass and further Tadapani through dense moss-covered forest rich with bird

Day 5 : Tadapani – Chhomrung 2040m.

The trail drops down through dense rhododendron forest and a long ascent high above the west bank of the Modi Khola, and continues up to the village of Chhomrung towering above the village is the mighty peak of Annapurna South, with the Fishtail facing it across the valley.

Day 6 : Chhomrung – Langdrung 1850m.

Trail descends to Jhinu and futher down to Modi Khola. From here an easy walk brings to Langdrung village.

Day 7 : Landrung – Forest Camp 2460m.

Trek up to Bhanjyang and further to Forest Camp leaving the trail to Pokhara.

Day 8 : Forest Camp - Low Camp 3140m


Day 9 : Low Camp - High Camp 3620m


Day 10 : Trek up to 4,500m for breathtaking views and trek back to Low Camp


Day 11 : Low Camp - Lwang 428m


Day 12 : Lwang - Anante Thati then drive back to Pokhara


Day 13 : Drive back to Kathmandu
