Trek / Hike to Namobuddha Gomba around Kathmandu in Nepal

Namobuddha Stupa is just east of Kathmandu valley located on the top of the hill. The Gomba celebrates an event in one of the legendary previous lives of the historical Buddha, in which he encountered a starving tigress about to devour a small child, and moved by compassion, offered his own flesh to her - a sacrifice that helped pave the way for his eventual enlightenment.

Namobuddha Gomba has been a big center for Buddhism. The monks, Gopba with praying noise and surroundings are the major attractions of the Bomobuddha. The trek starts with a drive to Panauti a self-sufficient existence in its own small valley, probably the best-preserved Newar town after the Bhaktpur, and goes through Dhulikhel-Nagarkot then descent Shankhu another Newar village, and drive to Kathmandu.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrive at Kathmandu airport. You'll be met at the airport by our representative and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2 : Kathmandu

Visit Swoyambhunath stupa and Kathmandu Durbar square then get prepared for the trip and meet the trekking crew.

Day 3 : Kathmandu – NamoBuddha:

Drive to Panuti. After sightseeing in the city, drive to Phedi and trek uphill to Nomobouddha.

Day 4 : NamoBuddha – Dhulikhel:

After breakfast; trek through forests, and some sights along the roadway to Dhulikhel. Enjoy the sunset over the Himalayan.

Day 5 : Dhulikhel – Nagarkot:

After breakfast; drive to Nala and trek to Nagarkot commanding a panoramic Himalayan view with its wealth of hiking and obtaining the best sunrise view.

Day 6 : Nagarkot – Sangkhu - Kathmandu:

Trek down to another Newari village and drive to Kathmandu

Day 7 : Kathmandu

A free day for your own activities. Evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with a live cultural program hosted by the company.

Day 9 : Departure

If you have time and are interested in other adventures like white water rating, wildlife safari, or any other activities can extend your holiday or transfer to the airport and fly back to sweet home.
