Dhaulagiri base camp and round trek in Nepal

Dhaulagiri treks is an adventurous walking onto glacier of high pass begins at Beni. Dhaulagiri soars 8167m and is the seventh highest peak in the world, standing alone above the great Kali Gandaki Valley in central west Nepal . This valley is the deepest on earth as it is flanked by two 8000m peaks - Dhaulagiri I and Annapurna I. This trek offers breathtaking views of Dhaulagiri massive south face as well as the chance to explore the remote valleys hidden away behind its bulk. You head out through exquisite forests of pine, rhododendron and fir to emerge on the Kaphe Glacier, from where you climb up and over French Pass (5240m). You descend into the wild and untravelled valleys beyond where bharal (blue sheep) can sometimes still be seen in summer. The route then takes you over the Thapa La Pass (5350m), with exceptional views of the great Kali Gandaki Gorge, before the steep descent into the valley and the return walk to Pokhara. This is a most challenging trek but your effort is well rewarded.
